"Winners Catering for Champions"
The Olympics, Athens, Greece 2004
In 2002, the Swiss Government and Swiss Olympic and Presence Suisse of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were looking for a new hospitality partner for the traditional House of Switzerland at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. A competition was launched and the jury chose «César Ritz» Colleges Switzerland as the winner. The House of Switzerland was operated by 24 Cesar Ritz students and 6 faculty members. The restaurant was so successful that it was chosen as the top national venue at the Olympic games by the Dutch newspaper ‘Algemeen Dagblad’ outranking nations such as USA, Russia and Germany. It was a tremendous experience for all students and faculty involved. Overall, the enthusiastic team performed as true ambassadors of Switzerland and Cesar Ritz Colleges.
European Youth Olympics, Champery, Switzerland 2005
On this occasion, 120 students and lecturers were responsible for catering to 1,800 guests at the Olympic village in Champery. One of the objectives of Institut Hôtelier «César Ritz» since its opening in Le Bouveret in 1986, is to regularly participate in the tourist development of the area and to contribute to the local societies' activities. The Cesar Ritz collaboration with Swiss Olympic for the organization of this international sports event for European youth was a wonderful opportunity for the "César Ritz" students to showcase their skills learned at Cesar Ritz Colleges.
Winter Olympics, Torino, Italy 2006
After successfully managing the House of Switzerland at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 and participation in the success of the European Youth Olympic Festival Monthey 2005, «César Ritz» Colleges were again present in Torino in 2006. Presence Suisse from the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs led the project with the official partners Swiss Olympic, Valais Tourism and «César Ritz» Colleges. The authorities of the State of Valais, home state of «César Ritz» Colleges and a favorite alpine and winter sports heaven, used the House of Switzerland Torino 2006 to showcase Valais as a preferred tourist destination. The project was a huge success and our students again proved that they were ‘Winners Catering for Champions’.
The Olympics, Beijing, China 2008
Due to our tremendous success in the past events, we have once again been appointed to replicate our ‘Olympic’ efforts in Beijing 2008. Please stay tuned for more news.
